Hi,
I live in N. Ireland, and my only visits to England Wales have been on business to London and a couple of times to York for the races.
Anyway we are heading on our first family holiday with the tent on the ferry and we are looking for some suggestions on where to go. I havent booked the ferry yet as I am waiting to decide where to go first so we are open to suggestions.
We will be heading on the 9th July for a week. will probably head south to get a bit of weather... hopefully. We are into a bit of cycling, site seeing water activities, eating out, BBQs etc. 2 adults and 2 kids 13 and 11.
I dont know England/Wales that well so need some suggestions please
Also should note, I have just bought the Hartford XL tent so need somewhere with large pitches and EHU.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Derbyshire has quite a lot in the way of cycle routes, water activies and beautiful scenery and plenty of places to visit.

Use the campsites search facility on UKCS to find details sites throughout the country.
The Costwolds also has a lot to offer http://www.cotswolds.info/
North Wales has lovely scenery and you could incorporate this within in journey if you travel to Holyhead.
As you are only coming for a week, I think it would be an awful lot of travelling if you were to head for Devon/Cornwall but that part of the country is a favourite for a huge number of campers.

My favourite places in England and Wales:
Pembrokeshire
Snowdonia although a lot more likely to be raining than Pembrokeshire.
North Devon / West Somerset
South Devon - South Hams
West Cornwall
Gloucestershire - Cotswolds
