Blackmj I am completely with you on this one...and you're right, it is all about making money.

The site we originally wanted to go (The Plassey near Wrexham) now have a FIVE night policy over the Easter, Whit and August BH weekends.

Whilst I am sure they will still be full, it has put me off booking with them again at any other time as I think it's really unfair - it's only about making money.

Many families look forward to Easter and Whit for their weekend breaks...and many can only take three nights at most, therefore it will exclude a lot of people who either can't afford to pay for the 5 nights or are simply not prepared to pay for nights when they won't be there.

We will be looking at some firm favorites for our spur-of-the-moment weekends away (during term time) such as Fforest Fields and Dolbryn, neither of which operate with the million-and-one rules and regs now sadly too prevalent on many sites.

i vote with my feet, I aint going to pay for something i'm not having. and have always found a different site.

that said, i did once book one that had a 4 night policy, but only cos i wanted to stay all the required nights, so I guess thats how sites manage to get filled.

And i can sympathise with the school hols. my wife is a teacher....so we always have to pay top wack for site fees, and the dates this year are a real pain.

we are off for a week to maximise my hols and the easter weekend come back home for 3 nights then off in the opposite direction to another site.

Comments like these really annoy me. At the bottom line every camp site in the world is about making money. It is a business after all.

Well...being a campsite owner I wouldn't expect you to say anything any different and yes, you're right it is a business - but for some it's not ALL about making money or at least they don't convey it that way (as in the aforementioned campsites).

However, as someone else has mentioned, if they don't like it - they vote with their feet, which is exactly what I have done.
