Just asking cos we go to the folk festie every year and this year want to stay on near cambridge for the rest of the week to explore. Have found a new campsite just opening this week with cheap introductory prices. Problem is the website doesnt have much info and no piccies of the actual site. Am really swayed to book cos its so cheap but hesitating cos it could be a dive!!!!
This is the link:

Thanks for any info.

Camping And Caravan site at Cambridge is a good site if you perhaps belong to the club. It`s just on the outskirts. We take our bicycles with us and it is about a twenty minute ride into the city but there are also plenty of buses plus a park and ride.Hope this helps you.Cheers.Alex

I would second the above, the CCC site is well established and you know what to expect plus there are loads of reviews.

If its adult only you could try ringing the Garden centre at Phillimore Garden Centre. 01763 260537.
Its in the old orchard and has electric and is very quiet. Basic showers and toilets but not so bad and there is a bus from the main road into Cambridge which is about 6 miles away or you can drive to the park and ride.

We have 3 kids with us and don't like to be crammed in or surrounded by caravans, makes us feel claustrophobic lol!!!! Have checked the website again and there is more info now. Looks like its right on the A10 in Chitterly. Its quite close to the road which I think might be quite busy. Shame cos its only £8.50 a night inc EHU whatever the size of tent or number of people. Bargain!!

Have a look at Highfield Farm Touring Park at Comberton just outside Cambridge - park and ride about 5-10 min drive from site.

We recently stayed at Roseberry (Feb Half Term) - a good little site.  Cheaper than the club sites but virtually as good IMHO.

Oooo thats interesting, it's about 15 mins away from me.  I could pop in over the weekend and take some pics if you want Holdol?

I think it will be right next to the A10 (unless its one of the fields at the back) and if so it will be very noisy.

Anyways I'll have a looksee and let you know.

You could try the Caravan Club site at Cherry Hinton, only a few minutes walk to Cherry Hinton Hall. We live close by and always go to the festival.
