Hi, hoping someone can help. We are travelling to Birmingham in the summer for an event at the NEC so want a campsite within a 30 minute drive. The kids want to go to Kenilworth Castle as we didnt manage to visit last time we were in the area. So ideally we want a campsite easily accessible for both.
I have been making myself dizzy looking on here and C&CC website at various sites. Log Home Farm, Chadwick End, Solihull looks in an ideal location but there are no reviews anywhere for it. Also they have a website for their farm shop but there is no mention of Camping. Anyone know the area?
We want a small quiet site for a tent. Basic is fine for us as we have our own facilities but we are going for 5 days so want to know the site will be OK!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
There are 2 certificated sites which accept tents near Kenilworth local to me. Haven't been on them to assess but had thought of a weekender to practice pitch. Neither of them are listed on this forum. Both are in C&CC Big Sites Book and on website if you enter "Kenilworth"
Both basic sites, one has WC and water, 6 acres and level; the other is Own San essential, 3 acres mainly level, and Booking Advised
As for distances
1st listed above is 7 miles from NEC, 4 miles from castle
2nd listed above is 8.5 miles from NEC, 2 miles from castle
Hope the info helps or if you need more info let me know

As far as i know Marton Road Farm, Long Itchington is the closest campsite to the NEC it takes me about half an hour from mine, I live about 5 mins drive from the NEC
it's a small basic site set on the out skirts of a small village, someone else might know of one closer.
I take it from the op that you are C&CC members, if so the club site at Kinsbury Water Park might be suitable. There is also a CS just outside Kenilworth, Greenfield, has WC but no EHU. The CS at Oberry Fields Warwick has good reviews and EHU.

Thanks everyone, we have booked New House Farm, Hurley. We looked at Kingsbury C&CC site but we prefer smaller sites and New House Farm was only £11 a night with electric.
Oh thanks enid-hartshill, thats kind! They sent a really friendly e-mail, sound nice people. Its a long way from home but we usually stay in that area once or twice a year so if it works out we will definitely make a return visit.
David & Jenny love Yorkshire also.. We all go there for our holidays. We have stayed at Beckhouse Farmhouse Cropton - if you like good beer David will tell you about the Brewey Tap close by. . Warwick Castle, Back to Back (Birmingham), Kingsbury WaterPark, Market Bosworth, with Battlefield Site and Shackerstone Railway, Hartshill Hayes Country Park are all good days out, Have a lovely time and enjoy as we do in your beautiful county.
