We had a great day out yesterday in Clumber Park. We got well packed up and stayed for a BBQ. Whilst there I found out that they now have a camping field, where the BBQ field is and that it was also open last year. This is separate to the Caravan club site.
At first the idea seemed great, could even cope without an EHU for a night or too. The weather was great and the field got busy but not packed, but it has kind of put me off. As the day went on more and more cars of teenagers appeared, until the background was a constant thud thud of several dance tunes. They were driving stupidly fast around bikes, kids and dogs.
I have looked on the site reviews and there are none for it last year. Just wondered if anyone stayed and if this happens every sunny day. It doesn't say if they allow single sex groups or not, and if there is any sort of curfew?
I am hardly an old grump, but tend to go away to chill and have fun, just can't see us being able to with corsa's racing across the field! I am really torn as I love the park, but can see this site being a nightmare, or worse still a danger.

The campsite opened today!
We were parked up in the BBQ field and yes there were a few groups of teenagers with some loud music and some silly driving, but the wardens were driving through and this did stop them.
I went over to talk to the campsite warden and they are having a noise curfew and this will be enforced by their night security guy. The camping field looks good, but a little uneven. There are 3 toilets and 3 electric showers for men and the same for women. Two wash up sinks (covered by a gazebo) and fire points and water on the field. No EHU for tents. You can book (£15 night low season, £20 high, per tent), or take your chance and turn up. Campers get discount in the restaurant, but there are no concessions for NT members. Warden said that the BBQ field generally empties by 8pm.
Wigwams and pods also look good.
The warden told me that I needed to book at the info centre, but the girl there said not. Apparently you have to ring up at the moment. We are going to book a couple of nights for the end of May and see what it is like.
I would be grateful for any feedback in the meantime if any one stays.
