If you are set on stopping,how far down were you thinking travelling before you stopped?

It's only about 5-10min off J13 M5..but as still north of Bristol,you can still sometimes get caught in traffic build up(..we've been caught in tailbacks caused by J21-Weston-super-mare).

With that in mind I don't think that it's far enough down for you(..and I'd want to be leaving myself with less to do the following morning anyway...).

Someone may come along with some "wild camping" spots..but personally,as you're in a caravan,I'd be spending the 12-15 quid on a basic site for the night..

I notice from your site reviews that you appear to be a member of the Caravan Club.

If you can get as far as Exeter and leave M5 a junc 30 there are a few cl's to choose from on the way to Woodbury Salterton. I would think you could get there by early evening leaving about 100 miles the following day.

we have stayed here a few times when travelling from somerset to Lake District - ideal stop over and pub at the entrance does good food. Only 10 mins from M5
