Hi

Could anyone suggest a camp site in the UK that is safe enough for my adventurous 2yr old boy and 4yr old girl to run around in.  We dont mind quiet, but It needs to be near to lots of day trips to keep them amused....Thanks!

Hi Sumners Ponds is a good site ...  if you pitch on the grass the play area is in the centre

A very good point Loopy brings up often .... on too many of the sites the play area is near the entrance/roads .. and away from the pitches .... maybe something that we should all point out to the site owners .......

Happy camping

Dorset is very good full of campsites and plenty to do
We went there last year with our four year old and our one + Half year old lots of attractions to keep the bussiest of children satisfied. have a look on the campsite search engine for a site that would be best for you, we stayed at Acton Camping in Langton Matravers near swanage, very nice and lots of open space.

Kissmekate,
I camp with my my six year old son, and my little girl who has just turned four - and I have an activity box - contains colouring books, paper, pens dough etc.  I find this invaluable when camping (keep a box just for camping), helps keep the kids amused either in the tent, or sitting just outside.  Gives me time to cook etc. and also have that valuable five minutes.
I also take a portable DVD and a few disc for emergencies - found this very useful a couple of times this summer when the weather was totally impossible.  On our main holiday the rain started Tuesday, and although we spent the week dodging showers, Wednesday night was heavy rain, and Friday the weather was impossible.  Disney films saved the day.   I won't use it as the main source of entertainment - but on the odd occassion it can be a lifesave (or more importantly my sanity saver).

Was interested in both the initial question and the response of Sumners Ponds. We could not identify from web-site if there was a play area at this location and we are going camping (as a family) for the first time with a 1 and 3 year old within the SouthEast at start of June.

Does a) Sumner have a playarea or b) anyone have any other suggestions within East/West Sussex or Hampshire?
