We have a small (30ish) selection of books in the utiliyu room for campers to use, or swap and have been amazed by how many have changed over this bank holiday! Is this a very popular feature on a site? I have never listed it on a website as I presumed it was just something we did.
------------- Visit Llandrindod Wells! Great scenery, walks, cycling, red kites. Ideal for exploring Mid Wales.

I have used similar facilities at sites we have stayed on, and now and again have come across books that have been really interesting. I don't think I would stay at a site just because of this facility, or for that matter, avoid one that didn't offer it, but why not put it on the website. It certainly gives potential users good idea of the sort of place you are!
We have a book and DVD swap section in our games room/information area. It started 15 years ago with approx 20ish books. When we moved here i was unpacking and i had left a box of books in the laundry, a family from Austrailia came to stay and asked if i minded them swapping a couple of books with mine! So we just put a few shelves up and the books we had on them, with a sign stating 'free swap and unwanted books welcome' - 15 yers on the books have changed many many times and have increased that there must now be some 200 or 300 at a guess!

It is a very good idea and have used this only once before on a campsite. Its a great way to recycle all your books

I love this sort of facility, I always try to pass my books on to someone else or leave them when on holiday for someone to pick up and read, one of the reasons I dont want to buy a Kindle!

I love this type of facility as I read avidly when on holiday and they can take up a lot of room (in an already overloaded car!). I particularly like this when we camp in France, as it means I can read more books than I take!
I think that it is a wonderful idea. I've been away, and because the weather has been good, and the kids disappeared for hours to the play area, I have been able to sit and read. I would have happily donated books to such a facility - and got myself something different to read. Espeically if you felt that you could take the book with you, if you hadn't finished reading at the end of you stay. When Pip was in hospital earlier this year I left the couple of books that I had bought, and read in the parents' room for others to read. We all must have book that have been a pleasant read, but not the sort that we would re read over and over again. I lnow i have.
I love it when I am on adore that offers this facility :). I always used to have unread books in the caravan for trips and thought it was great that once I,d read them I could replace it with another good read :). I can't bear to be without a book to read (shudders) lol
