Well we arrived in the UK on April 15 and picked up our Motorhome from Herne Bay. We spent the first 5 nights in the C&CC site in Canterbury.  We got a warm welcome from the warden there and met some very nice helpfull people. We thoroughly enjoyed Canterbury before moving onto Crystal Palace near London.  This is a great park and if the rest are like this we are in for a great stay over the next 6 months.  NOW where to from here.  People have suggesgted head for Brighton or in that general direction but any suggestions would be helpfull.

Welcome to the UK baldeagle, I've just been reading thru' your previous posts - so glad you've got here, how brave are you??  buying a van and going for it - I would really like to do that in Australia - got some rellies over there.

Anyway I see that you are planning to go over to Cornwall from your previous post, we love it there so I hope you aren't disappointed, we're going there for the boardmasters surf comp at Fistral beach.  Then there's all our castles here in Wales and we also love the Cairngorms in Scotland - I think you will have a great time here- pity weather's turned a bit cold now but hey ho, let's just hope that isn't our summer!!! 

All the best and happy travelling - oh are you keeping a blog anywhere - be interested to read your opinions etc.

THANK YOU for the replies.  We have met some great people in the two van parks we have stayed in so plus plenty of people in the street who are happy to chat and offer help.  First impressions are the friendly people and just like back in Australia around the van park.  The park here at Crystal Palace is as good as anything we have seen in our travels in Australia.   Another impression is the diversity of people. I think it may have changed my perception a bit but maybe i am getting ahead of myself before we travel in the more rural areas. 

We went into the wedding yesterday and whilst we didnt see that much of the newly weds we certainly talked to a lot of people and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere around us.  Its interesting that on the bus in a lady from Brixton named Rosie saw me checking my map so she volunteered to get us to the Mall.  She stuck with us all through the event and was a great help.  Thats the sort of thing that makes you appreciate what people will do for complete strangers.

I have noted the suggestions here and think we will head in the direction of Brighton initially and just take if from there.  Any other suggestions on places to head to would be appreciated.

These deffinately are a must do, and while you are in wales you could always visit Angelsey, where the royal newlyweds live, its a beautiful little island off the north coast of Wales.

After you have visited Scotland why not travel through Norfolk on the east coast on your way back  down south. Think you might need to stay another 6 months LOL  Enjoy whatever.    Penny.
