Just been informed by Golden Square Caravan Site, Helmsley that they are cancelling our pitches for spring bank that was reserved back in february, apparently we booked as a group in false pretences - at the time the woman said she would split us between two fields and that was ok - 3 families in one field, and 3 in another.  I spoke to her last week about deposits and she was fine and said to put it in the post, which was duly done.  Now she is saying that she told me to wait and is claiming the bookings were made ubder false pretences.

I have never been so downspoken to in my life and to be accused of lying by somebody who was clearly lying themselves, Golden Square will never be the recipients of my business.

Have been regular campers for over 10 years, never had any complaints regarding noise, the behaviour of our children - I'm appalled with Golden Square

i don't understand the "false pretence" bit though???

I don't understand how she can think you've booked under false pretences if she knew about and took your booking for 6 families, I've always assumed "group bookings" were single sex groups?

I was so exasperated by it all complaining was beyond me, I appreciate that campsites can end up full of hell raising teenagers disregarded by their families, but that is not us, we've camped together as a group (part of the fun of camping) for numerous years, my oldest children are now 20 and 15 and no longer come with us and they were never complained about, my youngest is now 6 and fortunately I've manged to get somewhere else for us and our friends so the little ones can all have a good time together, sure we will cope without electric, but thats not the point - unfortunately camping is that popular Golden Square will fill our vacancies, I just hope the deposits are swiftly returned as I will take them through the small clains court very abrubtly at their expense
