The Oulton Park BSB racing was last weekend, I have read on the official Oulton Park facebook page about lots of bad experiences with thefts, roudyness, lack of facilities, lack of access, lack of water.

Apparently they had to move the camping from the nice infield section after a caravan fire last year so it is outside the circuit now.

10,000 people and only one water tap!

I have stayed on the field at Croft for the BTCC and its just down the road - walkable easy. This was a nice place really, no problems, plenty of security and no stupidness.

Not Oulton or Croft, but we've been to Donington Park a couple of times for BSB & World Superbikes. We didn't camp on the circuit but on the site right next door. You literally walk out of the site and straight into the paddock.

We usually add an extra day and come home the day after the races to make it a bit more of a leisurely experience.

I'm really surprised at that, always seem like a good bunch. Seen the one at Donnington i think does it have a bar and resteraunt on site?

Donington with one "n", if you put the other one in your sat nav or google search you will end up elsewhere

Race circuit campsites (not the commercial ones close by) tend to have little facilities, they are usually temporary fields used only a couple of times a year at most so have brought in facilities.   They are usually pretty noisy and are often targeted by thieves so as with all event sites you need to ensure you're being careful with your possessions.

I understand the new Silverstone Woodlands Campsite is much more of a permanent site.   Brands Hatch has decent camping, Snetterton used to but I'm not sure where it is now that the circuit has been changed.

Croft is OK for camping out - basic but good security and it's an easy walk from the camping field to the track.

If you're a tin tenter and don't want to stay on site, there is a beautiful little CL about 3 miles from the circuit.

Camping comments on facebook seem ok

example:
Gillian Rushworth - "great camping! loads of room when we arrived Fri eve, toilets and showers a plenty. drinking water readily available, quieter area to the left (although you could still hear the rowdy lot on the right!) but overall a fab weekend and will def do it again!"
06 June at 09:58 ·

Son and mates were looking at the weekend beg 15th July at Oulton Park, and for me to drop them off. I'm thinking would need to take a quite a bit of food and drink, or loads of money to eat out.
