Well to celebrate my 50th birthday in june i have booked us in at golden sands at Mablethorpe, and the reason i'm so excited about this is because Mablethorpe is where my camping days began in the very early 70s at a campsite called St Vincents right next to the water tower ( I think its a housing estate now, dont know if the tower is still there) it was a very basic site with just a toilet block and washroom, no reception but i remember a lady just used to drive round the site in one of those little blue invalid cars collect the money and drive away. ( does anybody else know of this site?) anyway im planning on having a good walk around to try and bring back a few memories. As for Golden Sands very good prices i think, £48 for 4 nights with EHU and club passes, i also noticed this weekend 3 nights for £18 with EHU, very tempting wonder if i can get time of work lol.
------------- To camp and camp again!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I've been a few times, but it looks to have been considerably improved in the last couple of years (as have lots of Haven sites) with new toilet blocks etc. There would also appear to be a footpath to the entertainments complex, because they say it takes 10 minutes to walk it - even an Olympic athlete couldn't have done it in 10 minutes before
We are there that weekend too. We are non-electric though, look out for us and there's a birthday drink for you. I think St. Vincents is statics only now.
We are regulars at Golden Sands, absolutely love the site and Mablethorpe itself. We have camped both in our tent and trailer tent at this site for very reasonable prices. Our little boy is 4 and there is so much to keep him entertained and fishing for the OH....we are currently in discussion as to whether to invest in a static on the Haven site as we like it there so much. We also have teenagers who adore Skeggy Vegas of which we are definitely not fans but they can jump on the bus from Mablethorpe or if they are with friends with cars they can be there in 20 minutes or so.....everyone's a winner!!

Hi MissE i remember you saying you were there so we will come and find you, which tent will you be using? We are there till the wednesday then hoping to go back to Acornwood near Sc**thorpe again for a few days.
Hi Jeff and Kim, sorry to be so long getting back to you. Have now decided to go in the campervan not my lovely tent as the grumpy one is coming with us and he really is not a camper. So look out for a rusty old LDV, will may be put the awning up for that real camping feel. I've got your bags from 9iron packed already.
Hope you have a great birthday Jeff, Im 49 the week after, not going anywhere though, even though we are only up the road from Mablethorpe.
We are off to Blue Dolphin Filey to celebrate OH 40th birthday.

Looking Forward To Going Camping At The End Of June
We got back yesterday and had a great time. They have built a new access road from the touring area to the main site. This goes round the back of the "Holivans" site, so not as far to walk. Jeff and Kim are staying on a few more days, I think they are getting better weather than we had at the weekend. Enjoy, you two.
