Looking for a site for mid June.
Looking at leaving the South West and heading north so would consider, Cotswolds, Hereford, Worcestershire, etc etc. But if you have any ideas would be great.
Ideally looking for a CC site with excellent dog walking onsite (i.e forest walks, field where they can be let off) and close proximity where we can walk to a pub and sit outside for a bite to eat.
Thanks!

For the best dog walking on any CC site in the country you have to go to Low Manesty CC site in Borrowdale.
------------- Bill
For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

A smashing site - but in case it's important to you there are no toilet/shower facilities. This was my favourite in the lakes until.................
I discovered Eskdale C&CC site - smashing!
My apologies - just realised it was a CC site you were looking for!

We had to look after a dog when we went to the CC Bromyard site (nb no toilets) and it was a good choice. Straight out the gate and over the road and there's miles of Bromyard Downs or stay on the same side of the road and just round to the right a fairly quiet patch of common.

Does it look like this when you walk out through the gate, this is Low manesty on a cold November morning.

This one is definitely going on our list as a stop off contender for when we do the highlands next year. Thankyou.

You mention the Cotswolds.
CC site at Cirencester Park has just what you want. An on site dog field (not walk) and also the country park itself is at the gate. A short walk into Cirencester town centre for the pubs.

Thankyou for that HarryB . Site looks like it's in lovely parkland - just perfect for the dogs.
My only slight worry is the proximity to the College........does that cause any problems?

Warwick Racecourse CC site, miles of grass track for dog walking when theres no racedays on, which in reality, means your free to use it most of the time.
You can also walk over to the Castle grounds, or around the town centre with plenty of pubs and restaurants within 10mins of the site. Next to the race track is a Sainsburys, which has a pedestrian walkway from the site, close enough to collect the morning paper.
Within a ten min car ride, theres miles of towpath along the Canal sides, all with excellent facilities, doggie bins, cafes ect for walkers.

Hi Chelsea Girl
We stayed at Cirencester Park CC last September. It's a lovely site but the college is right next door and there is constant noise from it (during term time). Also, if you walk into town (the road way) you have to navigate through hoards of students!!

Hi,
Not quite in the area you mention, but Sandringham CC site (and C&CC Site) in Norfolk are fantastic for dog walking. You are straight out into the forest and can walk for miles.
Even better (but further away for you) is Clumber Park, near Worksop - although you'll be lucky to get in as it is ridiculously popular!

We were there during term time last September and were pitched near the botom of the site, where most of the hard standings are and we were never troubled by noise. Yes, a few of them did take the park route home adjacent to near our pitch but they weren't a problem. Where they do cause a problem is going to and from school. They have to cross the entrance road to the CC site. The handbook does mention this. Lets face it you can come across this problem almost anywhere at those times of day. However in the morning they are hardly likely to cause a problem so early.
As far as a site for your needs is concerned I wouldn't let that put you off.

Your point being what?
All I was doing was providing information about a site I knew about in the area that the OP was actually asking about. I wasn't trying to compare it with anywhere in particular. Just trying to be helpful.
