Does any one know of any Campsites in the lake district in the Ambleside/Windermere or Grasmere area that are on or near a lake or have access to a boat slipway. I know there is Low Wray but the prices have gone up so much and we fancy a change. Also any site must accept tents. It would be handy if any campsite had a play park on as well.

Waterside at Pooley  bridge is on the lake with its own slipway, play area etc

Try parkfoot ullswater.  Backs onto the lake.  Has 2 kids parks (one for younger kids, to age 6 I think), a stream running through it (take the kids' wellies).  Also has a club with entertainment.  Takeaway, restaurant and more.  We've been twice and love it.

It's a short walk along the lake to Pooley Bridge and all that it offers.
