Hi, I've just got back from a fab week in South Cornwall. It's the fourth time we've been as there's just so much to do down there and the weather is usually warmer than it is further North (I have a great tan!).
My kids are 10 and 11 and always like to spend some of the time on the beaches where they (we!) like to bodyboard. Many beaches also offer surfing lessons which seem popular with teenagers. This year we also went horse riding, visited Lands End, went walking/geocaching, and had a lovely day out in Falmouth. Still didn't find time to explore the coves on the Lizard, visit the Minack theatre and Porthcurno beach or hire a motor boat at St Ives but there's always next year!
We stay on a site near Helston (Boscrege) as it's only a short drive from a fab beach at Praa Sands but is central enough so much of the South of Cornwall is less than an hour's drive away. I gather that a lot of sites fill up pretty early in the Summer holidays but you should be ok if you start thinking about it now.
Hope you make it down there - it's definitely worth the drive!
