russandjax - It's a great site, in fact a stunning site and there are lots of nooks and crannies to hide your tent away in. We went last Monday (30th) and it was very civilised. Everyone is supposed to camp at least 20 metres from the next tent which should ensure privacy but when it hotted up at the end of the week quite a few unsavoury characters appeared! Luckily they weren't near us! It is a fantastic site, but YES... pick your time! I don't think I'll go at midterm again! There are lots of fabulous sites around that area and some are closer to the train (transport) and the pub! The supermarket is good there but there isn't anywhere nice to eat apart from the pub in Llanbedr (the Victoria)
looks like you were in the same field we pitched in at Easter, much nicer down that end or maybe our requirements have chanced as we have got older as we always used to camp at the dune end, a bit too cramped for us down that end these days in high season.
I must say the new porta cabin toilets are soooo much better than the nasty portaloos
We were about three fields away from you last week: I remember seeing the red folding camper just over the hedge on our way to Dinghy Beach. We have been many times but last week, despite the vast numbers of people there, was one of the best. 700 pitches and we practically had the beach to ourselves.
We went Sunday to Friday but as the weather was so good we stayed 'til Saturday - maybe not the best decision as we had to report a gang of numpties from the midlands on Friday night (it was a group of young families) who turned up with what looked like a catering van with a generator (they are not allowed) that they kept trying to pretend they hadn't got.
Why do some people think the rules don't apply to them?
We only had noise on the last night (Saturday) and that was a group of 3 or 4 young couples who were drinking and shouting well into the night! It would have really bothered me if I hadn't had my ear plugs!!! I heard them worrying on the Sunday morning that they had been reported! Hope they had. Yes, so many do flout the rules and think that they don't apply to them! Really annoying for rule abiding campers!
By the way, was that the yellow van parked up by the portapotties and the water tap? My husband commented that they had totally commandeered the water tap!
------------- Please sponsor me... I am doing a sponsored head shave for Macmillan Cancer Support. Yes i intend to have all my hair shaved off. http://www.justgiving.com/denise-frain
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

No it wasn't a yellow van I didn't see that.They must have wanted en-suite
It was strange, they were a big group but they weren't noisy, apart from the genny. We reported it and the warden came round and told them to turn it off which they did, but then about an hour or so later they switched a car engine on and pretended to be blowing up airbeds then turned the genny back on obviously thinking no-one would notice. I think they all went a bit hungry that night. . It was on again the next day though but we were leaving anyway so didn't bother until we were on our way out and we told the security guys.
