hi folks,suppose to be going to ord house in berwick in august,was looking forward to it, but just read a recent review that has put me right off,just wondering if any one has been there recently,and how did you find it.

We were last there 4 years ago and it was excellent.

It was clean, quiet and well run and possibly the best site in the area (we always use CC sites where possible, but Ord House is much better than Seaview IMO).

Admittedly, when we were there (late September) there were no tents, so I`m not sure where they would pitch, but it isn`t the sort of site that encourages anti-social, selfish or uncouth behaviour.

After all there is always Haggerston Castle down the road so why try to compete?

thanks for the replie angus,i have a little girl in tow,so i'm very choosey were i take the familey camping,the reason i booked it was because it looked the kind of site that would not stand for any sh.t.Hopefully the last rewiew was just a one of.Thanks again for taking the time to replie.

We were there in mid April and it was very quiet, warden was very helpful when the electricty didn't work at 10.00 pm. We had no noise whatsoever in the evenings, it was a very quiet site and we really enjoyed it and would definately go back.

Odd then that the one bad one was posted by someone who just joined UKCS and has posted only one review....suspicious, who me?!

aside from the new poster one review etc ( wonder if they clashed with the wardens and this is their revenge???) I personally go with general feel of reviews if they're mixed, so if they're mostly postive I'll take a chance etc. With this site having just the one bad review I'd go. But thats me personally

It has loads of good reviews, and is in a lovely area.
(I live about 15 miles from it and have heard of any problems there)

We were there last year for 5 nights in August and it was great, think the other review is very dodgy. No way would it be noisy, there are lots of statics and people who stay there throughout the summer so they were strict about things like that.

lovely toilet block, good facilities, clubhouse friendly with a childen's soft play area

Nice walk into Berwick but was not impressed by Berwick itself.

we went to Edinburgh for the day, Bamburgh castle, Holy Island, Seahouses etc

the tent pitches were quite small and in the orchard area were very private, too private for us, i felt a bit claustrophobic but still had good time

just go and enjoy it

Thanks every one for the replies,we had booked up a couple of months ago, for 4 nights at the start of august,looking forward to it even more now,thanks to the everyone for taking the time to post.
