We are kind of new to this camping thing, and are planning our longest trip yet (4 days) in a couple of weeks. We live not far from Edinburgh, and would love some site ideas that don't involve to long a travel, prob 3hrs max.
Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
hi emd have a look at ord house in berwick,i'm off there in august, lots to do and see in the area.Very good reviews, hope you get something sorted, prop an hour drive from edinburgh.
Nothing fancy, clean toilets, don't mind what area, near the beach if possible, my other half would like to go fishing, but it's not that important. We don't have any children to consider.
I can recommend the Islecroft site at Dalbeattie, about 2 hours from Edinburgh, within walking distance of the shops and next to a large park with boating lake.
There are plenty great sites well within your 3 hour drive away. You would be better to try and narrow it down to a specific part of the country then use the campsite search facility. You can then tick the boxes which suit your requirements

If you don't want to be by the sea, there's Melrose or Forfar and just about on the 3 hour limit, there's the sites on Royal Deeside - Banchory, Ballater or (my favourite) Braemar.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
