Just bought a caravan last year and have only been out in it a few times

Main reason for purchasing the caravan is to have weekends away with our dog!

Looking for suggestions of sites to visit for weekends away over the next few months, previously been to loch earn and blair athol castle.

Blair athol was ideal, great site, great walks for the dog, she could get off her lead for a good run  around, and loads of local pubs, hotels, allowed dogs in so that we could pop in for a drink or a bite to eat!

So looking for a pet friendly site, with good walks nearby, and ideally some pet friendly pubs!!

Thanks

Yellowcraigs at North Berwick. Fab beach and walks nearby.
Lovely pub in Dirleton which takes dogs, and quite a few places in North Berwick that are doggie friendly. (Highly recomend the Golfers Rest for a pint - dog gets bowl of water and biccies!)

Which area of Scotland are you in?

There are plenty of dog friendly sites with dog friendly pubs otherwise I would not camp.

We've been to a campsite in Cannich (Highlands) this weekend with our dog, who did not cost extra (unlike some sites which charge for pets).  The site's nice and there's a very good on-site cafe (great coffee!).

We also go with her to Ardmair Point (near Ullapool) but the beach is made up of large stones.  She's fine with that and loves it there  -  fab views out to sea.

Yeah; depends where you are but there are some lovely places up here (Highlands).

Live in Lanarkshire.
But compiling a list of sites we would like to visit that would be good for us!!

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

I can recommend the Linwater site near Edinburgh.
Although only about 10 minutes from the Edinburgh city bypass the site is really quiet, and there is a pub about 20 minutes away if you follow the canal towpath.

Balbirnie Park CC site at Markinch is on the edge of Balbirnie Park which has loads of space for dog walking.  Yellowcraigs has been mentioned already.

Immervoulin at Strathyre, loads of off-lead walks in the area and the 3 village pubs accept dogs. Castle Point in Portpatrick, ditto.

We have 2 dogs and we love Maragowan Caravan Club site, Killin.  Plenty walks on the doorstep at pub just opposite which allows dogs in (although we don't take ours).
