Hi there, Waterside farm at Ullswater doesnt allow caravans but is right on the lake and does boat/canoe hire from its own slipway. Stunning scenery and the lovely village of Pooley bridge is a 10 minute walk along the lake and has 3 pubs.

We camp and take our boat there a couple of times a year.

We have stayed here a couple of times but didn't hire canoes as we had our own RIB.  The site is right on the side of the river and this goes up to Oulton Broad, which is a lovely trip.  We haven't been since we sold our boat but the recent reviews look quite good.

If you look at ValBarley's post about Symonds Yat, that'll give you a site near to the Wye River.  We recently holidayed in the Cotswolds (sadly self-catering house with large family, not camping) but one of our days out was at Symond'sYat where some of our party enjoyed a canoeing experience.  The arrangement was that they were driven by the organisers nine miles up river, from where they set off in the canoes and had to find their way back to the hire place....My OH, his dog and his canoeing buddies capsized so they had rather a soggy trip back...but that's another story!
