I'm an outdoor swimming fan looking for a campsite for 2-3 nights within walking distance of a beach i.e. right next to, not a mile away!
I don't mind where - in Yorks, Lincs, Northwest or North. There seem to be lots in the South and Southwest but we live in Sheffield and can't really get down there and back, even in a loooong weekend!
Decent loos and showers would be nice as we're in a tent.
Your expert advice welcomed.....

Hi

A few weeks ago we stayed at High Straggleton Farm at Sandsend, near Whitby.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=8846

The farm is a short walk from the beach, there is a public footpath over a golf course that goes directly to it. This site does get busy but may be the type of place that you're after.

Hope this helps
Mac

If you are a C&CC member, try here http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=10380  We stayed here last weekend and I've just posted a review but I don't think it's made it through the vetting process yet. It's not actually on the beach, but even our 4 year old could walk it in ten minutes so I figure it should be close enough for you ;-)  Clean loos and showers, very peaceful area, friendly owner, we'll def be going back (assuming I've not made it too popular for us to get a space by giving it a good review!).
