Have a look at Debden House. Very good site set in Epping Forest

I've just submitted a review which is still pending approval / posting.  In the meantime, existing reviews are representative in my opinion.

It can be if you manage to avoid the crowds of drunk morons who can frequent the place sometimes. Plus the toilet facilities can resemble something out of a horror movie in the mornings. There also appears to be absolutely zero stewarding of this site but then it is run by Newham Council so one shouldn't be surprised. Apart from that it's great! :)

I could have sworn that the last time I looked on the map that the Dartmouth crossing was to the East of London and  Abbey Wood was very close to the Dartford crossing when we were there in March. Have they moved it?

It's close geographically but not in the time taken to get across it and into east London. The Woolwich ferry is closer and free but also has big queues, same for the Blackwall tunnel and that's going to be horrible in the rush hours.
