Evening all,
Would anyone be able to recommend a decent camp site (under canvas) within a couple of miles of Stratford Upon Avon. Four of us are heading there in two weeks time for a birthday celebration and will be heading into town for the evening therefore we don't want to be too far out of town.
All suggestions gratefully received.

Stratford racecourse used to allow tents as have stayed there myself in one. Has this changed? it's a decent enough site and the nearest to the town, plus it is (or was) resonably cheap.

Stratford Racecourse still takes tents - it's one of the few that still does - and is about 30-40 minutes walk to town. Look in Campsites Search for information and reviews. I stayed there about 4 years ago with family and it was very friendly.

Here, give these a try. They got a CL & a CS on the same site. If you fancy taking a bus into town it's just a ten min walk along a footpath.

When I lived near Stratford, buses stopped running at about 6pm, so if that's still the case, the OP would need to get a taxi(s) to any site outside Stratford as he and his friends are planning an evening out in town.

Stratford racecourse is a good site and was still taking tents when I was there in May. As Fotogen says, walkable into town - you can go along the riverbank or along the road.
