How old are children?  We stayed on a pub campsite where there was a fantastic childrens play area.  Very cheap.  I don't know whether its still there now.  Perhaps a phone call.  Right opposite there is Amerton Farm which is a great day out for the kids. http://www.amertonfarm.co.uk/

The Plough Inn is now shut, Came past the other day its having some sort of building work done. Thats if it's the one opposite Ammerton farm.

Hales hall at cheadle about 5miles from alton towers and about 6miles from stoke city centre.

what about Pillaton Hall Farm, ideal for young children as they have a large play area, not much else on, but great for anyone who likes fishing,
It has just reopened, so we cancelled our original camp site and booked at Pillaton, the grandchildren love it there
The local take aways will deliver to the camp site
