Booked for The Bude camping and caravan club site in Cornwall, been to cornwall many times and love the place but never stayed around the Bude area, as anybody stayed on this site? and if so is it noisy? with the traffic from the A39,The campsite seems quite close when looking on Google maps/streetview. 5 sleeps to go, getting very excited now.

Thanks Angie

Hi Angie

We live in Bude so know exactly where the C&CC site is.  It is right on the A39 - Atlantic Highway (!) - so I'm sure there will be some road noise but my advice would be to try and pitch a far away from the roadside as possible.

If you want any tips for Bude, let me know!

Thankyou Kernow Camper, Hopefully we can get a pitch away from the Road, I have spent the last couple of days printing of mape for Morrisons and dog friendly beaches, just trying to find out if some of the Beaches are easy excess with no steep climbs down to the beach, my little boy as a disabilty so can not manage steep climbs etc, would prefer a beach that as car park quite close by,as he could manage to walk short distance to beach without using his wheelchair, Any idea's ?, also could you recommend any child and dog friendly pubs that do meals in the area?,

Getting really excited now only 3 sleeps to go

Thanks Angie

Morning Angie

The C&CC site is about 7 mile outside of Bude, so you'd have to drive into Bude.  Best beach there for you would be Summerleaze (car park right next to beach).  Doggie friendly BUT they must be kept on the lead between certain times (10am - 6pm I think?).  There's also a very small beach at Crackington Haven with car park opposite but it may be a bit stoney/difficult access for your little 'un?!  Widemouth Bay beach and car park is massive and very easy access too - part of it is doggie friendly all day long!

Best pub in Bude is the Brendon Arms (next door to the Falcon in Bude) - dogs allowed in bar section (few tables for eating) - weather is gonna be great for you so you can sit outside anyway!  Great pub grub there!  The Falcon Hotel (next door) have a few doggie friendly tables inside - the food is good there too but a little expensive!

Have a great time!
Sharon

Morning Sharon,

Just had a look at the beaches you have reccomended, they all seem lovely, i had printed directions all ready to one called Black rock sands which says is dog friendly with cafe and toilets. Summerleaze beach sounds and looks lovely, we had planned a lot of trips to the beach as the children love rock pooling etc.

We Will try the Brendon Arms, dont mind eating outside on a nice sunny day, and the weather says lots of sunshine for the week.

How lucky are you to live in Bude, We love Cornwall, and never want to return home after spending a week in your lovely part of the country.

Thanks once again for all your Advice

Angie

Hiya Angie

Yeah, Black Rock is the doggie friendly part of Widemouth Bay - gorgeous!

There are lots of little cafes/tearooms/restaurants in Bude.  If it's dry and sunny then try Life's A Beach (during the day).  It sits on the cliff top overlooking Summerleaze Beach - outside seating/doggie friendly.  Gorgeous views!

If you all fancy a wander - the walk along the Bude Canal (by the Brendon Arms) is flat and lovely - nice NEW tearooms at the end near Helebridge too (not tried it yet - only opened a month ago - so not sure what it's like).

We are VERY lucky Angie, it's a gorgeous place and not quite as busy/commercialised as the like of Newquay/Padstow/St Ives - YET!!!

Have a great time.

Sharon
