hello all i have 2 boys 13 and 9 who would love to go camping by a river to maybe take a dingy do some paddeling fish with a net. we have been to a few already but wondered if anyone knew of anywhere else we could escape to for the weekend? within the yorkshire area would be ideal

 Depends where in Yorkshire you are ? Bank house farm at Hulmend in Derbyshire .

It gets busy at weekend but theres plenty of space !

Mason's Farm in Appletreewick is right on the River Wharfe - although a warning; it does get rammed with families at weekends and during school holidays.

I have recently recommended Akebar Park near Leyburn in North Yorkshire under the heading 'North Yorkshire Sites' where Debi Sanderson was looking for similar  to you. A lot of people on here won't use the site as they don't allow reviews but as every one is different we all look for and expect different things. Debi has since replied that she had a wonderful time at Akebar on a lovely, tranquil site and will be returning. I have warned her that as the site gets really busy at bank holidays things can change, but I really feel the site would be worth your consideration.

I have nothing to do with this site, but I have camped there on numerous occasions and then put my tourer on a seasonal pitch so I feel I have given it a fair chance, unlike a lot of others.
