We are total newbie's to camping & have just booked our first trip at Point Lyans in the north east corner of Anglesey. We have never been to Anglesey are very excited & the campsite had great reviews on here!

We are a family with 2 young children 6 & 2 & a small dog. I wanted to know any good places to go in Angelsey which are child & dog friendly!

We had wanted to visit Beaumaris castle & I was disapointed to read that dogs aren't allowed there cue upset children & husband!

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!!

Many Thanks
Kate

Hi Kate, we took our dog with us May Bank holiday and had a great time! Anglesey is a lovely place. We stayed the opposite end of the island but it is easy to get around. We found some lovely beaches that dogs could go on - Lligwy Bay is beautiful and dogs can go on one side of Newborough beach. There are lovely woodland walks there too. I sat and had a coffee with dog while family went to Beaumaris castle - it is a nice town to wander round. Then the dog came with us on the boat trip to Puffin Island (no puffins after July but there were seals). We enjoyed this trip, seeing the seals was a highlight for my children. Dogs can go to the model village too. It looked fairly small but not expensive.

Looks like our dog will be coming to Cornwall with us now - so hope we can find some dog friendly beaches and pubs!

And any more we can fit in!

Hi sunshine88,

I know you posted this ages ago but I was just wondering, which boat leisure trip company did you use? I'm having difficulty finding one that accepts dogs.

Thanks.

I have copied sunshine 88's reply as we are off to Wales next week and will be visiting Anglesey in the course of our tour. We have two dogs that just love beaches.

I don't know where you'll be staying Lobey but if you get chance take your dogs to Pentraeth beach - not easy to find but there's no dog restrictions at all there and when the tide is out there's a huge expanse of beach for them to run around on. Sorry if my post is a bit late but I've only just come back from ten days on Anglesey
