Ok, so I may be crazy, but my husband and I are thinking of taking the children camping next weekend. They are 3, 1 and 6 weeks! oh and the dog too.

I second Holme Valley, the kids will love the ducks. There is a steam to have a dip in but watch the kids around the fishing pond.

If you can`t get in there, try Esholt near Bradford, there`s a basic site there with basic facilities but you can take kids in the cricket club for a game of pool and a pint or 2 for you. A five min walk is St Lenords farm which is great for the kids also there is the Woolpack pub which was the pub in Emerdale before they moved the set.

Kram2, how much did you pay a night at Holmfirth please? Was it recently that you went? Have always fancied there for a weekend away.

We tried once when we first camped to find it but got lost in a diversion around the back of the stadium at Huddersfield and gave up and went home. (when I say lost, I mean very lost, pre satnav days )
