Thanks guys. Really appreciate the feedback. I'll look in to those.
I am currently a very fed up a frustrated city boy who desperatley needs a break :o).
I have been to festivals but not proper camping so I am pretty knowledgedless on the whole subject (locations wise at least). All I want to do is get out of the city for a while, Do some walking, hiking, exploring little places, climbing (nothing too serious), hire a bike and ride through a forest and stuff like that. Basically get my hand dirty and graze my knees like a big kid for a week. This is why I was aiming for the Dalby Forest area.....as it really the only place I am mildly familier with...
...But some of the campsites I have found that do allow campfires are not exactly near the forest but some further north near Goathland. But if I did stay near Goathland....whats that like? and is it far from Dalby Forest anyway? (I will have my car with me anyway).
Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks again.
