Hi

I am wondering if anyone can help me, we are booked in here at this camp site in August, and was just wondering if anyone can tell us some good pitches to look for with grass area and near the dog walk.

Thanks

Melissa

Have a look at the link below.

Having a favourite pitch number stands for nothing really because you have to take what's available when you get there but this will give you and idea of where you would like to be.

Unless you have the need to be near the Childrens play area i would avoid a pitch near to its entrance, we got a large dent in the roof ouf our last caravan when it was brand new by a young lad kicking a leather football up high as he was playing around the entrance to the swings and slides.

We asked to be moved, and had a nice pitch almost opposite the wardens office, backing onto a hedgerow which was full of wildlife and colourful birds for the rest of our stay.

Hope you enjoyed ur stay there this will be our first time here so hoping we enjoy it as much as other sites

Yes it does.

The little squares with numbers are hard standing and near the bottom of the plan.

The pitches with just a number are grass, near the top of the plan. So your chosen pitches, 20, 21 and 222 are hard standing.

If you want grass then you need to be looking at pitches 57 to 64 and 99 to 104. These are very near the dog walk.

Hi, We have just come back from here at the beginning of July, A bit of information that may be of interest to you as you have a dog is next to the site entrance is West walk, this is forest commission land with  a car park and numerous paths for dog walking however just outside the site office there is a shortcut in to the woods. ( get advice of the wardens for precise route using shortcut). Also the dog walk on site is a large secure field with plenty of room to run round and mingle with others, beware there are a lot of rabbits on site.

We stayed on pitch 20 which has a large grass area to the back and is a large pitch,21 is also a good size with plenty of grass behind, 22 is slightly more restricted as the ground around it slopes,24 and 25 are large pitches with plenty of grass behind. All this area is in full sun from morning till mid evening(there were only a couple of pitches that got longer sun than us).

One more thing if you do decide or are lucky enough to take pitch 20 we found it better to park the car towards the front of the pitch as this deterred people cutting across to the dog walk entrance.(pet hate of ours )                                          Enjoy your Holiday we had 2 great weeks here.

Dunc.

Thank you for all this info Dunc, this is very helpful to me, and now know what to expect, and where to head when we get there.
I like the idea of the field being secure for the dog walk so much easier when letting off dogs.
Thanks re advice on car parking at front i will make sure we do that as its our pet hate too.
We are looking forward to spending a nice week there, and especially if the sun is shining,
Just need to find a nice pub for a birthday meal and we will be sorted.
Thanks again
Melissa
