Hi All, just got back from a few days at Riverside in Wooler and the wife has decided she would like to go to Scarborough at the end of the month for a few days.
We would ideally like a bar on site and plenty to do for the kids, would like a generous size pitch too as we use the extension on our Monty 6.
Any suggestions gratefully received!

Andy.

Hi there

Middlewood farm, little further up the coast at Robin Hoods Bay.

Have huge fields so you can have as much room as you want, and beauifully clean toilets and showers. 2 entrances, follow caravan sign as bigger fields there for tents.

But no pub on site, having said that pubs at Robin Hoods Bay in walking distance and  lovely footpath from site down to beach.

Obvious larger ones at Scarborough what previous reply mentioned, and others down there.

We live your area, whats Riverside like

rieghton sands is a nice site it is a haven site but dont let that put you off as it isnt a large commercial site it has lovley views you choose your own pitch there is a club house and plenty for the kids to do the facilities are nice and clean. we have been going there for the past 4 years and we love it. prices are reasonable aswell.
it is located near filey. only downside is if you use electric hook up as they dont have this facility.

Camping and caravan site is close to Scarborough, easily walkable and there is a pub just off the site which also has very cheap carvery.  There is another pub within about 5 minutes walk too.  There is a childrens play area and they have jumbo pitches.

We had 3 nights at Riverside, firstly they don't show you to your pitch (this might be the norm) and when we got to our alloted pitch someone was on it as the numbers had been switched around, this wasn't a problem as there was a space the other side we used.
Kids loved the place and on our first night we were awoken at around 12:30am with someone being ejected from the site. After this we heard some revellers return to their tent at around 1ish and they were noisy for an hour or so with no sign of the warden.
Both other nights were quiet and we slept fine, road noise could be an issue during the week as Monday was quite noisy quite early but I'm being picky.

We had a great time!

We have stayed in a statics at Wooler, it was one of our best trips away.

If you don`t mind being inland and are looking for a site with a pub I can recommed the Black Bull at Pickering. Lovely quiet site, big pitches that are marked out and numbered, excellent toilets and showers. Pub food used to be ok but the last meal we had wasn`t up to much so I prob wouldn`t eat there again.Pub dosen`t belong to the campsite.
