The site owner incurrs a cost to have the dog waste bins emptied, therefore they charge people who bring dogs to cover these costs.
Also, not all dog owners clean up after their pet which then means someone else having to do the job.

I personally don't mind paying a couple of pounds extra to take my dog with us - much cheaper than putting her in kennels and she gets a holiday too!

We had three great holidays at Trevornick but I have drawn the line at going back now as they are charging £5.10 a night for dogs, I'd want his food included for that!!

I have been to plenty of sites where they don't charge for dogs and provide dog bins and a good dog walk.  I also tend to go for sites that say 'dogs welcome' rather than 'dogs allowed'.

As Ratty said, a perfect answer Steve. It just about sums it up in one.

I emailed a site once to ask what my dogs would get for their £2 a night & they said they had to empty poo bins, fair enough but a bin bag is less than 10p and one a day for the whole site is sufficient, that's if it's even emptied daily, usually it's a couple of times a week.

It's just another way of getting cash and we never use sites that charge for pets, try looking at the camping & caravanning club sites, they don't try and squeeze extra cash out of their customers by charging for pets, awnings and dont assume every booking is 2 adults + 2 kids.

Ours drink bottled water that I bring myself. 5 litres for £1.  We also drink bottled water.

They charge because they CAN!

I would never go anywhere that charges more than £1-£1.50 per dog.
