Hi i was just wondering which is the best dog friendly site you have ever been to and why?
We have taken a brake from camping for a couple of years and since got 2 cavaliers. Were currently converting a T4 into a camper ready for next year but was hoping to get a late summer break to ease the dogs into it.

Hello, first of all I NEVER pay extra for my dog, on principal. Any campsite that does charge extra should be ashamed of themselves. End of.
Penrose Farm in Porthleven, Cornwall is the best I have been to. No on-lead restrictions, although it's expected that your hound is well behaved - fair enough. Loads of space for dogs to roam around and the site is next to a beach, Loe Bar (dogs allowed).
The dog walking area leads to open fields with footpaths. Betty (the owner) loves dogs and this is reflected in the site. There are limited facilities and you may want showers etc.

We live in notts so first few trip will be within a couple of hours drive at the most but we love cornwall and visit a few times a year so any in cornwall or a few hours around notts :)
To be honest im wanting to take trips everyweekend next summer so im pretty much open to most areas :)
Ross park, Devon are very dog friendly, big off lead dog walk, doggy showers & bonios when you arrive!
Also Newberry Valley nr Ilfracombe, the dog walk is in a wood & pretty steep but the owners are very into dogs/dog training so you know they are welcome.
I like windermere C&CC, there is a dog walk at the side and a long lane and woods to walk through, but the lane is a bit narrow. I dont like the idea of dogs being off the lead all the time, because one dog may take a dislike to another and the rest is history. My dog wont fight, but you cant say the same for another. So i always check if the lead rule is in place or personally wouldnt go.
