Just enquired at Waren Campsite, Bamburgh for the cost per night and was informed that our Idaho XL will be double the cost - £40 per night - due to its size. Firstly, there are a lot of tents out there bigger than ours and secondly, £40 per night for a tent is absolutely staggering. Never had this problem before - have we just been lucky or are campsites just getting greedy ??

I love the way these posts are always about full facility sites with swimming pools!

Warren Farm

Their charging structure is on their website here tents over 17sqm are charged a large tent premium, they seem to start from a reasonable price for mid sized tents with two people and then add on from there.

As has been discussed many times, all sites have a way of setting their charging, some work well for different groups of people - for a mid sized tent with two people it looks like a good price for that type of site.

Hope you find somewhere you like

I do agree with you, as campsites pricing structuing is often mentioned/complained about.

BUT surely as a full facility site they want to encourage families, with a pricing structure like that I feel they're being a tad greedy by making it so expensive for families. But thats just my thoughts.

We like Searles, another all singing/dancing site, but they charge per pitch. But they can be as expensive unless you book early and get a deal.

Wow just worked out our family 2 adults 3 kids and what i consider a reasonable sized tent.... £45.50 a night!!! and if DD come as she's an adult another £5 a night - that is high, but I'd just vote with my feet.

Well, I for one am glad that sites do have different rates. Warren Farm would have suited me very well a couple of years ago when I was camping with a single parent friend. Loads of sites wanted £30 a night for me and my little Highlander. After all, you don't have to book a site that you think is too expensive.

Yep agree that different pricing stuctures suit differing people... never going to please everyone all the time. But my point is for a 'family' site surely they should be pricing for for families??
