haven;t stayed in the park itself but stayed in a house next to it in Tregurrian which is at the top of the hill (where the site is I believe). We could actually see the site out of our windows!

Watergate Bay is lovely but gets very very busy and car park very full. Water also comes in a long long way losing almost all  the beach so check tide times if you want to play on the beach

Drive a little way down the coast (10 mins) to Porth Magwan for a fantastic beach and caves and little waterways. Shop and pub and fish and chips right behind the beach. Stunning drive down into the cove (as there is from Newquay into Watergate - amazing views)

Tesco express nearest decent sized shop in Porth on way to Newquay or Asda, lidl, Sainsbury and large Morrisons all in or around Newquay (about 15 mins away)

Parking everwhere is a premium in Cornwall especially in the coves and bays especially in high season. trya dn go to the beaches after 3 and parking is often reduced or free (certainly wat at Porth Magwan)

Enjoy

Another vote for Mawgan Porth beach - we're off for two whole weeks there on Sunday 18th - can't wait!! Beach is lovely - again not much if tides in but lovely when out. Comes in very quickly, so if you're under the cliff on the right hand side as you look out to sea be aware!

Can't comment on Watergate bay, sorry, as we always stay at MP!

We have stayed not he site next door but gone through it many times also friends have stayed there it's a very well kept site in a perfect location. We used to walk down the hill to the beach but watergate bay site had their own bus I don't know if they still do .
There are loads of beaches all around the area not far away. We were going there for about 12 years.
Walk over to the cliff walk not far from the site .its one of my favourite views.
