just back from our main summer holiday and starting to think about next year its been years since we went to Cornwall so thats where we're thinking of going...so I'm looking for your recommendations- we have a large tent and want electric hookup, we also have a dog, onsite shop/pub/restaurant not essential but would be nice, our three boys will be 12,12 & 16. I'm quite fussy about shower/toilet blocks, needs to be clean and well looked after.......phew thats quite a list.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Great site. Great owners, managers and staff
5 mins to beach which is lifeguarded and has 2 cafes.
Very clean and tidy facilities - including a new shower block on part of the site.
Has a shop and 'entertainment' room for the children. Laundry and wash up area all undercover. Marquee where there is sometimes entertainment on. But is a space for socialising and you can take your own drinks and eats
Play areas for the children - Pirate Boat (but maybe for younger ones), swings, pool (as in snooker not swimming)
Dogs very welcome
Large pitches - lots of EHU and non ehu to choose from Good ampage for ehu - mainly 16 (I think)
Bar area and snack shack (chips and pizza)
Pub just around the corner if you want it.
Saw Franchis site just about everyday over the last two weeks and that looks to be a nice site too but I'd be a bit wary taking ourvan there but just because of the road and tight turn off it. There were plenty of vans on there though so it's probably just my personal worry.
I did comment to OH that it looked like a site we would choose if not at CC

Globe Vale, Redruth. Excellent site. EHU and water hook up (or own personal tap) on grass or hardstanding. Very reasonably priced for Cornwall in high season. Site very well looked after and landscaped really well, toilet block also very well looked after. Small bar of site with good meals. Excellent position for getting to anywhere in SW Cornwall. Really lovely and friendly owners.
P.S. We're there at the moment.

St Mabyn holiday park near Bodmin got everything you need.
We've been at Globe Vale for two weeks and have another week left. Then we're having a week at St Mabyn. I know Golbe Vale is excellent. Looks as if we're off to another excellent site then a week tomorrow.
