If you're not fussed about beach sites, try Spen House at Minskip very near to Boroughbridge, Nth Yorks. Seems to be child friendly and cheap. Close to Morrisons supermarket, Newby Hall, Yorks Dales, Harrogate, York, Leeds.

Growing old disgracefully!!
Decision made and campsite booked - we have gone back to a site at Thirsk where we used to keep our caravan (apologies for mentioning a tin tent - hubby lived in while working away) and managed to book on there with electric!!
Thanks to everyone for your help and ideas - that's what I love about this site!

Hi Redjeni, we are also looking for somewhere - anywhere - for 2 family tents for this weekend. I must have phoned or messaged over 40 and no luck... which ones did you get a "yes" from? Don't need electricity. Cheers

Hi just put the name of one on your post - Spen House near York - listed on the campsite search on here, Black Dog near selby was a pub site that could have took us but no toilet facilities during the night, tel 01757 617487. Royal Oak in selby was another pub campsite that offered us a pitch no electric £10 per night but latest review on here was not favourable and I think that there would be no toilets during the night!
Good luck!
