What a shame, we were on the site at the same time as you and had a supertime. It was noisy during the day but I went to bed at 9.30pm each night and had no problem.
We didn't see the trailer park!
We also had to complain to the wardens because children were using our pitch as access to the ablutions and tripping over our electric lead. They weren't the most helpful but they did allow us to block the gap in the hedge with our trailer. I think we all get very protective of our allocated space and rule our territory with a vengeance. As long as you were in your own pitch Mr Grumpy should keep his opinions to himself. It's a shame you had to move and I do hope you will give camping another chance.

Sorry to hear this, dont let it put you off. We have never really had a bad experience camping, just other people living their lives and enjoying themselves, but in a way that doesnt interfere with other people. I agree with other experiences people have had when not camping - hotels; being stared at over breakfast; cottages - god-awful mattresses and dust everywhere, also owners watching our every move as if we are teenagers (we're both almost-40 professionals).
Someone came and complained to us about their perception of our loud music one evening whilst camping this summer, about 7 p.m. We can tell you that it wasn't loud, nobody else complained, but we were mindful of it whilst not letting it affect our own enjoyment. Maybe they didnt like our musical taste!
We are hoping for our last tent-camp next weekend, then probably into pods for the winter!
I only have the one camping experience - this week just gone - and despite it being holidays with kids everywhere we had a fab time as the site was divided up and our pitch was very private - just 3 pitches in the one area. I would definitely say it depends on the site, so don't give up just yet! I am also restricted to school holidays, but that doesnt have to be a down fall - means more kids for mine to play with = more peace for me. :)
Just a thought, why are people restricted to school hols, are there no sites near where you can go Fri night and come back Sunday. A few short breaks throughout the year are great to recharge the batteries, and not so busy.
Of course people may have other things to do weekends, but,we found a quiet site only 30 mins away, so away we go.
