Some neighbours we had this summer complained , amongst themselves, but loud enough for me to hear, about the noise my 2yr old made in the morning. "Unfortunately" she talks a lot, from the second she wakes up, and despite all the whisper requests etc, there's nothing for it. So, I take her for a walk in the pram for an hour or so, and if it's raining then maybe I'll take her for a bath or shower. Keeping her up late at night doesn't work BTW; that just makes her cranky and uncooperative when she wakes at the usual time.
In short, I do what I can to keep it down, but some folk would apparently rather I went further.
On the topic of late drinking: one of the issues with booze of course is that even a very conscientious camper,if they have had a few, will make more noise than they realise . More so if they have been in a noisy place like a pub for a few hours.
