Have a look at Lincoln Farm Park at Witney near Oxford. Not too far to the Cotswolds from there. We haven't actually stayed there but we visited it when we were in the Cotswolds and its a lovely site with excellent facilities. Couple of pubs doing food within walking distance as well. Also has an indoor pool. Very popular site so you may need to book. Check out the reviews on this site as well and they are virtually all very good reviews. Not cheap but it is very nice.
IF you are members Broadway & Moreton-in-Marsh Caravan Club sites are both excellent and within easy 5 - 10 mins walk to town/village. Both great facilities. Just what you're looking for?

it has a river boat to get into town - about a mile to walk (so not so great for that)
There are a couple of sites in moreton in marsh - the caravan club one and the ccc one but not sure that has ehu (they are building a hospital across the field from it at the moment so not sure what is like now). The Caravan club one is an easy walk to moreton and has lots of pubs a few restaurant, shops (co-op, budgens, tesco express) plus some other local shops with a market on a Tuesday). It always seem pretty fully booked though.

Some good suggestions there, we have just come back from Notgrove, lovely but a drive away from anywhere. We were blown away by the convenient location of Tewksbury CC site, you walk out of the gate and you are in town.
Wincombe is a nice CC&C Site, we used it in May to get around the cotswolds, is was well placed to walk into the nearby village and to go to Stratford upon Avon and Stow, wincombe is a pretty town as well, plus not to far off the motorway.
------------- Had to give up the camping due to the rubbish Weather and Wind, so got myself a campervan!
Hi, totally agree with the recommendations for Moreton-on-Marsh. We stayed there for 10 days in July. Fantastic site with very short walk into town. Pubs allowed dogs which suited our 3 Westies perfectly! They love being made a fuss of so the fact that the pubs welcomed them was a bonus. Easy driving distance to many of the Cotswolds villages. There is also a train station in Moreton which is on the main line for Oxford and London Paddington. We took the dogs on the train and went into Oxford for the day. Much easier than trying to park car. Will definitely return to this site.
