with the replies i cant belive the prices people are charging....i looked at edentree campsite at bradwell (know it well) bloomin ripp off!!! 15quid for a 2man tent a night, 17quid for my camper.

i have done some wild camping around matlock area, no way can i afford camp site charges..

why not 6quid for a tent, not 15!!!!!

One of our favourites is the camping and caravan club site at Bakewell, no facilities on this one but it is cheap.

If you want toilets and showers try Hayfield, lovely walking country.

How about Rivendale, its a great site and has a bar/restaurant too.  Tou can go using camping cheques at £13.95 a night including electric hook up.  Its a djacent to the Tissington Trail if you loike long walks or bike rides. J x

Bakewell (actually Youlgreave) will be a sea of mud after all this rain, once you have got past the double parked cars in the village and along the single track roads, no thanks!

Hi Anne

I agree it is not very accessible especially for a caravan, we have a small motorhome/campervan and find it easier. Once you are there it is worth the effort, if you are worried about mud, they have hard standings now.

Thanks, been there once and that was enough! good to know about the hardstandings though. We use CLs or CSs now mainly.
