We have stayed there twice this year (both stays were booked before we had ever been there).
The first visit was in the school summer holidays and the site was jam-packed. The site was clean and well maintained and the staff very friendly. The entertainment was the usual "holiday camp standard", not to our taste but seemed to appeal to many. The downsides of that trip were the filthy boating pool (heaven knows what bacteria is lurking in the depths!!!), cold showers, and the fact that the site was extremely noisy until around 2am in the morning (despite signs asking for quiet after 11pm, no-one was around to ensure this was adhered to and no action was taken follwing complaints made). We went home suffering from lack of sleep and needing another holiday to recover! At this point we were dubious as to whether returning in September was a good idea!
Our second break in September was a very different experience. Although the boating pool was still filthy and the showers still cold, the fact that the site was silent after 10pm every night meant that we had enough sleep to endure the other niggles with good grace. Staff again polite and the toilets etc even cleaner than the first time. We also had a good price using their special weekend deal.
To sum up, we would return as the kids loved it, but would definitely avoid the summer holidays in favour of somewhere that strictly enforces the "no noise after 11pm" rule.
