After reading another thread I was tempted to go see how much it would cost to camp at Park Resorts over the half term next month....

Was amazed it will cost just £30 for four days. That includes all entertainment and indoor pool.

Even if the weather is too bad to camp, the site is close enough to home that we can travel down and spend the day on site and would I be happy enough to pay £30 just for that.

Now just got to convince the kids we will be warm!

Yep, it was memories of my childhood that made me re-visit a (reasonably) local Park resort, as most reviews I have read state the shower blocks are dated and have built up (age related) grime but still good value for money. Some resorts have adult only entertainment after 9pm but Kessingland was child friendly until gone 10pm.

I've been trying to find out about Butlins camping but they don't put details on their website, may be worth a call to enquire about camping prices and ask if they take tesco clubcard reward vouchers against it.

Have just had a look at the website and am very tempted to book 3 nights for £34 (including EHU 10mx12m) at skipsea. Just how cold can it be last week of October? I know the kids and dog would be up for it but DH is a different matter. Will sleep on it and broach the subject tomorrow. Cannot bear the thought of no more camping til next year.

Who were you advising Babyfish?

We have a kampa Khazi but we have just got a new car and so don't have a tow bar fitted yet.

Also taking our new tent which is just one room so doubt anyone would want me using the loo!

when we went to Ty Mawr we were on hte Warren and the loos were spotless.     It was a proper toilet/shower block.    When we'd camped on the Meadows a few years ago, although the loos were portacabin types they again were spotless - even on the week when thanks to the amount of rain the field could get quiet muddy - they were mopped several times a day.

Hi, Butlins dont do camping. They accept touring caravans at Minehead and Skegness, but no tents.
