We have a complicated start to a half term during which we both desperately need to get off life's treadmill
Fri 21st - work in Peterborough. (Hubby can bring caravan and pick me up).
Sat 22nd - have to be in Portsmouth 9.30am - 2.30pm
Sun 23rd - have to be in Crawley W Sussex, 4-8pm
Mon-Fri (leaving for home Fri am) - want a relaxing EASY week on a site, pref Kent, with Wifi (no we can't fully detach from work!) & EHU etc (full service pitch might be nice!) somewhere hubby can play with his new portable TV satellite dish.
C'mon - bright ideas for a plan??
Come up to Black Horse Farm CC site at Densole, Folkestone Mon - Fri. (We're there Sun - Fri). Fairly easy to get back at the end of stay. M2 and Dartford Crossing. I know the M25 has a bad reputation and will undoubtedly be busy, but we've always found it OK. Plenty to do in Kent. It has it's fair share of National Trust/ English Heritage properties - including the war tunnels at Dover castle. If we're lucky with the weather there is the odd beach or too. Go to the 'White Cliffs' (N.T.) sit and relax watching the ferries come and go to France, and dream of next summer. Dungeness is an odd place, but worth a visit. We have often gone to St Margaret's Bay and had a cup of tea on the front. I am working on the basisi that the south east will still just about be the warmest part of the country in October, but then, of course, fortunes are often reversed for the winter. It gets our vote, anyway, for October Half Term.

David - I was thinking about going there - I'm glad you've commented on it :)
I haven't investigated the dongle route yet - might do so if I can find a decent rate PAYG one as I couldn't really justify a monthly contract.
I bought my 3 dongle from Tescos in Redruth this summer. It cost me £19.95 (I think) - that included £10 of useage. The £10 is valid for a month (unless it runs out before). As far as I'm aware you then top it up when you want. We just used the £10 - it was ample for us for the month. I shall top it up with another £10 just before we go away for the October half term. £10 will be absolutely ample for a week, with plenty left on. It will expire after a month though, then I shall top it up the next time we go away. £10 for a week could very well be cheaper than what you pay on site for Wi-Fi, and then you've always you a few weeks left if you are out and about at home.
Hope you manage to get to Black Horse Farm. Do let me know.
Best wishes,
David
Edit: P.S. I was told that '3' was the best internet dongle - the best for signal etc. Just passing on what I was told.
