Has anybody got any recommendations for a good site for a touring caravan holiday on the Isle of White. I have two teenage kids so need plenty of things to do so they are occupied, would like near a beach and good onside facilities.
Would consider splitting and having 1 week on Isle of White and another somewhere on south coast.
Thanks

Funnily enough we were just discussing this the other week, been quite a few years since we been 'abroad' but last time we were there we stayed at whitecliff bay in Bembridge, there were loads of activities both during the day at at night, it also has its own private beach.
Our two lads will have been early teens then and they absolutely loved it.
Things might have changed since we last stayed, but thinking of returning in the near future.

We have stayed at Appuldurcombe Gardens in Wroxall for the last 8 years.
It`s a 10 minute drive to Sandown, Shanklin & Ventnor. Nice site with it`s own pool. Bar in the evenings and nice owners.
However check the price of the ferry first cause it`s not cheap !
We've stayed at Appuldurcombe twice - this year (in July) and in 2010 in September. Fab site although not sure it would have enough to keep teenagers happy although it does have an outdoor pool.
We booked our ferry with the campsite both times and saved a bit so get them to quote you a price and compare with either Wightlink or Red Funnel. Red Funnel tends to be cheaper.
------------- 2024:
February: Broadstone Park, Coleford
March: Bucklegrove, Rodney Stoke
Easter: Llandrindod Wells, Powys
May: Carmarthenshire
July: Dorset Volksfest + Wilksworth
August: Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza
August BH: TBC
September: Undecided
October: Bull Bay, Anglesey

We stayed this summer at Beaper farm, which we liked but nothing for teenagers to do there. Regarding the ferry we used Tesco clubcard vouchers to pay for the crossing with Wightlink.
Please read the reviews on Whitecliff bay on here before deciding.
We had a call from the site after our visit trying to get us to go back. I told them of all the problems we'd encountered during our stay. It seems that we aren't the only ones who have the same view and it also seems that the problems are not being addressed judging by subsequent reviews.

We went this year because we'd been a few years ago. It was fine then, not the best but good value for money and certainly cleaner, quieter and better managed. I think the focus seems to be on the statics, the wardens based on the touring area were the only staff we saw and tbh they did not/would not get involved with any anti social behaviour (even small children).
Think you might be better off paying a bit more and going somewhere better tbh, sad though as the location is fabulous.
