Had to work today so only just got online. Managed to book most of the sites we wanted, but both of the York sites are completely chockabloc for all weekends from June-Sept. Grr.

I tried to get through on telephone from 9am - finally managed at 2pm only to find that the vast majority of our sites were already booked. I thought I was so organised with 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices. None available for Easter so back to drawing board tonight. Agh! Do people just sit with their finger on the re-dial button? Unfortunately I cannot access the website whilst at work but it would probably have been the same.
I left the c&cc this year and was going to join the caravan club for next years holidays but am now thinking is it worth it ,it sounds like a real problem to book at short notice ,do they keep some pitches spare or just book them all up ?
Ferry Meadows - Feb Half Term
Exmoor House - Easter Day for 6 nights
Freshwater East - Spring BH (early june)
Looe - Aug 11-20 (in conjunction with a non CC site, before)
Black Horse Farm - Oct Half Term
Had no problems at all in booking. Was thinking about Baltic Wharf Bristol for Feb, but was already booked for our dates - only a small site though so wasn't too worried.
If anyone is likely to 'cross our paths' do let me know - we'll come and say hello.

Some may be interested in this. I did most of my bookings yesterday, but had to go out. I left Black Horse farm, until today, knowing that I didn't book the Oct Half Term this year until a few weeks before. Looks on the website and... shock-horror it was full for the whole week. So I ring up the site and got booked without any problem. Just to show what I have said before - even after all the activity yesteday, if it looks full, it might not be. Sites always have some flexibility.
.....so, all being well, see you in October Half Term, Black Horse Farm - hope to look up Murano there too.
I did that too a couple of years ago when we wanted 2 nights in early September prior to a ferry crossing. I think the wardens do have a few pitches that are kept back for direct bookings.
I've been on tonight and got all but one site I wanted but i've swapped them around.
I've got in at Knaresborough, Bridlington, West Ayton, Clumber Park and Abbey Wood so far but i've only gone up to september. I probably will get on and book for later in the year as last year we didn't manage to get onto any of the sites we wanted.

To be honest, I have never found it any more difficult to book CC sites than it is to book any other good site. This year is the very first time I have booked on the 'release day'. In the past, I have only very rarely booked sites more than a couple of months before, and frequently it has been the week before.
