Included in the membership fee is a monthly magazine plus the use of thousands of CL site and of course, their club sites. I think that s good value for money.

They cannot operate at a loss as the club could potentialy fold. They are reacting to their losses and doing something about it, to ensure the Club survives.
You cannot please all the people all the time and people will of course find reason to not be happy about something / anything.
I would have thought if people are that upset, then why not vote with your feet, if you think their prices are too high, don't renew the membership and stay at other sites.
Cheers Ratty
I have voted with my feet and found some nice inexpensive sites outside the club.
It is my understanding that club sites are fairly busy. If they still incur losses under these circumstances they would be well advised to understand the reason better rather than make a significant price increase - this will only drive people away to cheaper private sites or CLs which presumably the club only benefit from marginally.

Can i ask how much the membership costs to join the CC? The parks prices dont seem any cheaper (some a lot more expensive) despite it being a 'members club'. If you dont use the CL's where are the benefits?
Looking at your price list, CC sites are about £10 to £12 cheaper per night than your site. Also no minimum stay over BH weekends.
A guarantee that a certain standard will be provided. You don't get that with other sites.

Membership is just under £40 per annum, and I don't see the benefits either, apart from obtaining the use of CLs, which we do (a lot). Even midweek discount isn't especially cheap.
I agree as we have now started to use commercial sites for long stays as they are cheaper and many have facilities on par or better than CC sites but the bonus is that many are priced a lot lower than CC sites in the vicinity!
Only reason we are members is because of the CL network. As for the magazine we find it a waste of time now with not many useful articles. Don't know why they do not do an electronic form of the magazine which woul then allow you to look for archived stuff.

I think it's good value, I like the monthly magazine and this year we stayed on more C.L sites than ever because of cost but I do think most of the club sites are still better value and cheaper than a lot of commercial sites, for us as a couple anyway. Maybe different if you have kids to pay for too.
I can't and won't pay the prices that some of the larger sites are asking at peak times....£28-£30plus per pitch....plus extras on top.......... no thanks.
We left the CC years ago as we felt families did not benefit from membership as much as others. We have since found many great sites at good prices and have never looked back.I personaly feel that the club has become a little out touch and its lack of "family" appeal lets it down badly. The prices for 2012 are no surprise at all.

Really? You posting history does suggest otherwise.
