Byreside near Consett in Durham? has an excellent cycle track that was once a railway right next to it, but I'm not sure if they accept tents so if you are interested you would have to check.

Bay View in Bolton-Le-Sands, you can cycle on the canal to Lancaster, or on cycle tracks to Morecambe. We also cycled to Glasson Dock from there.

The canal is across the road from the site entrance.

We live near Bury and its 60 miles / 1 hour from us. Seasonal last year and this year.

 there is a very nice safe off road coastal cycle path from abergelle to ross on sea in north wales,very safe for familys.and plenty of campsites in the area.

Major Bridge, Holme on Spalding Moor has a dissused railway line which you can walk/cycle to from the campsite. Basic facilities but a lovely chill out place.

Lots of sites near York have access to the sustrans route from Selby to York, its a lovely ride which goes through the race course and by the river into York.
