Hi I am looking for suggestions for a campsite in Yorkshire area. I am looking for a site that accepts both tents and touring caravan and dogs. We are 2 families with 8,10 year old and eleven year old hoping to holiday together beginning of August 2012. Two families travelling from West Midlands and West of Scotland so trying to go half way in meeting up. Looking for EHU, showers etc doesn't have to have bars on site but with plenty of places nearby to visit and pubs/restaurants within walking distance, oh and great scenery too. Anyone have suggestions will consider other areas if not too far to travel from Glasgow area.

You could have a look at Bank Top farm just outside Pickering. It's  lovely little site but theres no pubs within walking distance. The closest one is a couple of miles away.

The toilets and showers are first class.

Hi Why not have a look at Golden Square near Helmsley, fantastic play areas for that age group, accepts tents and tourers, EHU, great toilet facilities.

Just have a look at all the reviews on here, really good site for families

There are a lot of excellent campsites in the Pickering area, the Vale of Pickering site has good facilities for kids.  One of my staff highly praised Golden Square and also Thirkleby Hall near Thirsk for her 2 youngsters.  There are loads of places to go and things to do in the area, it is an ideal place for a holiday - hope you find exactly what you want!!

How about the west side of Yorkshire, Knight Stainforth near Settle is a very good site and meets all your listed criteria. Knight Stainforth

Probably about half way between Glasgow & B/Ham too.

I believe Bank Top Farm is a Caravan Club CL site so if you decide to go there you'll have to be members. There's a pub next to the site (New Inn), it's also situated in the village of Cropton.
