Hiya can anyone please advise what the pitch sizes are like at Blue Dolphin, we have an Kyham ontario 8 that we are looking to take which is 7.3m long. On the website they state they can't accomodate a tent that size.

We have previously stayed at thorpe park and altho they also state they can't accomodate also we know the pitches can.

We were looking to try somewhere different this time can anyone please help?

Our sister park Crows Nest is next door to Blue Dolphin. They do get big tents on there but can't really comment on actual sizes, it is very sloping.

On their website its the same with larger caravans say they can,t accomodate when you know they can I think its so you have got to ring them

But this year I think they are too dear anyway Have you tried park resorts?

Hi, We stayed on the Blue Dolphin in 2010 with our caravan and hated every minute of it. The first plot they gave us sloped so bad we could not get the rear caravan legs down and did not have any blocks (which, on booking in, I told the girl on reception who assured me the plot would be fine). After returning to reception we were given another plot number which on inspeciton was alot flatter and we managed to get the caravan set up. But instead of grass where our door opened onto it was a mud bath, they had not given the area time to recover from other caravaners having their awning up. So instead of grass it was soil. And we were told we could not move our caravan so that we could avoid this area.
As far as tents are concerned the site is very sloapy and when looking at how some tents had to be pitched I dont know how they didn't roll out of bed.
We had a really bad experience here and would never return. Just my opinion though.

agree with twurly do yourself a favour and give it a wide berth,lots of sites in the area that you will be better off going to.

Hiya, we went to the Blue Dolphin in July 2010. We pitched in the field at the bottom (non-ehu) which is set apart from the main touring site. It's much more sheltered compared to the higher pitches. It was very quiet during the week when the english schools were still in but at the weekend it was stowed and a bit of a nightmare. Very cheap outside of the english school hols though.

Sorry I meant to also say that we 'lied' about our tent size and just went to pitch in the bottom field eventhough we were allocated a pitch up at the top! The bottom field can accomodate any tent size.
